What’t up everyone, I know its been a while since I vented, felt the need to pour out my heart, or whatever. I hope you all been Sticking and Staying in whatever it is you are pursuing. I’ve invested too much in myself, my brand and to my consumers that if I were to stop, it would be a complete let down and waste of time! So an update on clothing, I came out with these dope black and white tees that are basic with some camo ink, S/O FJ Co Apparel for hooking it up, very limited in sizing, but they been getting a lot of good feedback. Great news; I will have more in stock very very soon. Stay patient, your size should be available within the next couple of weeks. I want to say that we had a dope photo sesh with some dudes that are young, they are hungry, they got big dreams and they got a following. Now we are in Grand Island alright, so I know you think NE and some ding bats think, “New England” haha no! We are Western Nebraska, we are always last when it comes to whats in, we got Covid-19 on clearance haha. I had to, if you are battling CV19 prayers to you, but we were a “hot spot” but things are going real well, #phase4 lets go!
Okay so back to the photo sesh, as you all know Emily Chilewski (new last name, got married, congrats to her and her new husband) she does an amazing job. Shes so patient and willing to help me out, big thank you Emily. But these young hungry dudes are very unique. I don’t just scope out people on Facebook or IG and look for a big following and so forth, I mean it helps but in choosing who I want to have model it, its a gut thing, like a lot of things I make decisions on. A few months back, I noticed this kid Kaden, he had liked some of my IG posts, so i checked him out, and this guy is well on his way to 1K subscribers on YouTube! I hit him up, asked if he wanted to get a free tee and make sure to shot it out on his IG, NEVER thought I would be fortunate enough to make it on one of his videos! Big s/o to him for that, it meant a lot. Well fast forward, I really wanted to use him again for a photo sesh for these new tees. Well then there is another buddy of his that I asked if he would want to, he said yeah so we good! Then I was going thru my viewers on my story and seen one name in particular, looked at his profile and I knew I had recognized this kid from somewhere. I was at YMCA hooping a while back, and this tall kid that was playing ball in college now, knew who I was and was like, “yeah SUPA DRP”. I was like, “dang I need to find him, he needs some gear”! Well he just so happens to be good friends with Kaden! God works in mysterious ways people, he puts people in your path for a reason, and if you don’t believe that, I truly feel bad for you because you will miss out. I wanted to share with you some info on a couple of these young models:
IG: @kadenmcmahan- He has been doing YouTube for a while now, if you check out his channel Kaden McMahan, he is committed to his craft, his connection to his viewers. This dude has 1K subscribers!!! That’s insane, he’s still growing getting over 6K views on each video, he does vlogs and pranks, he just wants to make people laugh and be happy. It was a dream of his since the 5th grade, he would just make little movies and post them up. He would like to make it big into YouTube, however, he does hope to also be a freestyle bullfighter. This kid really does rule for sure and I just got to say, its been great crossing paths with him! I enjoy watching his success and I know it will continue to blossom.
IG: @aldo_bueno308 - He grew up without a father, he questioned himself and his worth, in a town not far from here, Hastings, NE. As time went on, he started to ask the question, “what if”. He realized that not having a father made him but did not define him. As he grew older, he fell in love with the game of basketball. He studied the arts of it, watched legends go at it and see them play each other as if it were their last game. He would then learn to use basketball as a get away and also to be fortunate to play all throughout middle school and high school. This dude is now in college and has the opportunity to play basketball and does not take anything for granted. I played with this kid and seen his game first hand and he’s a beast!
I’ll wind it down by saying be on the lookout for the next best thing, person, idea, just something or someone. I feel that we live in a time where a lot of people want to make it but aren’t willing to pay their dues. Nothing is an overnight success, and if it is, it wont last long. I enjoy the time it takes me to build a following, come up with ideas, graphics, concepts so forth. It all keeps me thinking, overthinking, not thinking clearly, but it’s me, its work, its worth it, it’s my baby. One thing that’s for sure is I promise to NEVER forget where I come from because it molded me into the person I am today. Pain, struggle, grind and hustle folks. I cry, I laugh, I fail, I fall, I rise. Its not easy, its not for everybody, but its doable.
